So what makes Animal Adventures in Music different from other preschool music programs?

Read about the 5 ways that we differentiate ourselves from the pack.

1. The Modernized, Silly, and Beautiful Curriculum

We’re all familiar with the age-old style and design of eductional classroom materials, right? Think big, bold letters, lots of reds, blues, greens and yellows, cheesy language, and overly dramatic characters. Kids are used to seeing these designs and having their eyes glaze over. They’ve grown wise to our tricks (disguising educational concepts in bright colors and animals with massive grins and big sunglasses 😂) and need a little bit more in order to engage them fully. We made it our GOAL to revolutionize classroom materials and bring some fun and magic back into the mix.

The Animal Adventures in Music material is authentic, adorable, creative, original, and funny. Each book is enveloped in a different world, where the main character takes the student through various concepts while avoiding pesky creatures, chasing after their cute friends, hunting down delicious snacks, planning a surprise birthday party, you NAME it.

AND, we make sure our lesson rooms are every bit as fun and beautiful as the books. We want students to escape into the Animal Adventures world from the moment they enter the lesson room.

2. An Individualized Education

The thing about Animal Adventures in Music is that it doesn’t have a set pace. The structure was created in such a way that any and every type of student can comfortably move through it at their own pace. There are no expecations, no ideal speed at which it should be completed, no deadlines, nothing. Each student sets the pace based on their most idealized way of learning.

And this is why teachers love Animal Adventures in Music so much. They don’t have to worry about retro-fitting the curriculum to match the student’s learning style. Instead of worrying about getting the student “up to speed” or boring a student by slowing them down to fit a certain speed, they can spend their time ensuring that the student is getting as much out of the curriculum as possible. Would this student benefit from more time spent practicing rhythms? Does this student light up when they start mastering note names? Teachers have the freedom and flexibility to tailor our program to best serve each young mind.

And… not to diminish the value of socializing young students with each other, but there are certain undeniable benefits that AAM students receive by getting one-on-one time with their music teacher. A one-on-one teaching setting encourages:

1. Increased focus and attention on the student

2. A stronger bond between teacher and student

3. Individualized tweaks to the curriculum based on the needs of the individual student

4. Faster and more meaningful growth

Animal Adventures in Music is the only preschool music program that was built to serve the individual student.

3. Exposure to 10 Different Instruments

Most preschool music programs focus on general exposure to music using songs, dancing, movement, and rhythm instruments. These are generally called “Mommy-and-Me classes”. And we believe there is a time and place for this type of musical exposure class! However, what we found is missing from every preschool music program is an introduction to music fundamentals such as rhythm and note-reading AND a thorough education of actual instruments that students will likely end up focusing on as they grow older.

How many preschool music programs teach students about the parts of 10 different instruments, expose them to musical styles played by those instruments, and give them the opportunity to spend weeks playing each of the 10 instruments? I’m not talking maraccas, tambourines, and other general classroom instruments… I’m talking the clarinet, flute, the entire drumset, the violin, the cello, the guitar, etc! Imagine giving your young student the opportunity to spend hours investigating the cello, the piano, the flute, etc… This kind of exposure and involvement with instruments is not something that exists for toddlers.

Animal Adventures in Music ensures that students are thoroughly educated in how to play 10 different instruments, what they sound like, and what they’re like. At the end of the program, each student knows exactly which instrument they’re leaning towards the most and will be able to jump right into doing what makes them happy: making music on the instrument that speaks to their heart the most.

4. Fancy Spinning Medals 😍

We know how important it is to encourage and motivate and reward students all the way through their journey, not just at the end. That’s why make sure each student gets a beautiful, heavy, high-quality, shiny, spinning, colorful, cute, fancy (need I go on? someone please stop me), amazing, gorgeous, bright medal every time they finish a book. Just take a look at these bad boys:

5. Literally Thousands of Stickers

This is the first time I’ve used the word ‘literally’ correctly in years. The Animal Adventures in Music program incorporates literally 1,825 stickers into the 10 student books. Every chapter of each book has an Adventure Guide that the student takes home and completes with the help of a parent, and we thought ‘what better way to get students to do their homework than to entice them with stickers’? Our students look forward to their homework for many reasons - one of those definitely being the fact that they are guaranteed to be able to flip to the back of the book and complete fun sticker activities. Take a look at a few of them below…
